CV Writing - Edinburgh

A CV/Resume is a critical tool in the job interview process. A professionally constructed Curriculum Vitae will maximise your chances of being short-listed for job interviews.

CV Writing is not part of the 1-1 Coaching in Job Interview Skills or the Weekend Job Interview Skills Course. Of course, we will refer to CVs during the sessions.

There is an important reason for this.

CV Writing should take place after you have attended the type of Job Interview Skills sessions we offer, for it's here that exploration takes place into your values, transferable skills, strengths and weaknesses, the key personality traits the interviewer is searching for from you, your 'true' competences, what you can offer to the company (it just doesn't want your skills).....

Once YOU are fully aware, have fully reflected and are fully convinced of these, then CV Writing can take place.

This is what makes us stand out from our competitors. We cannot just take your money and draw up a CV if YOU and WE are not yet certain of your values, transferable skills, strengths and weaknesses, key personality traits, and so on.

Of course, we'll want you to send us your current CV as it stands before attending our Job Interview Skills sessions, so that we can pre-prepare the setting and content for the mock interview.

Our CV Writing Service

After you have been on one of our Job Interview Skills sessions, we can write a CV for you if you wish. Or you may already have a good CV and you would like to get it made more powerful and memorable.

And we also appreciate that some people may have been on some other Job Interview Skills session (how dare they!) and just want us to write a CV for them. So, we can still help them too.

All job CVs are written bespoke at Interview Crest and individually tailored to your situation, your skills, your key personality traits, your experience and the type of posts you seek. We do not use ready-made CV templates like some other CV Writing providers. CV Writing can take from 2 to 7 hours depending on your career situation.

Typical process

1. Call or e-mail us requesting help.
2. We will outline the process in further detail. We do not wish you to trawl through screeds of information here. It's best to talk to a real person, and then you can decide if we are for you. If you are happy, we'll arrange payment.
3. We'll ask you for your current CV and ask you to complete our standard CV questionnaire and send it in. Then we'll arrange a telephone discussion (30 minutes, or more depending on your skills, experience, posts sought etc.)
4. We'll have a draft ready for you within 2-4 days.
5. We will then make any changes you wish to your new professionally-written CV before emailing you the final version in Word format.

It's as easy as that!
